Cavu Cocina Sin Limites

Cavu is a latin steakhouse that will open in the heart of the Biscayne Plaza. The client requested keeping the typography simple but with an element that represent a cow.

Logo Design

Designing the logo was inspired by a cow's natural features. Based on the facial features we sketched, we chose the most prominent features and incorporated them with a letter we planned to use as an outline. The V letter served as the outlined sketch we worked on. Aligning it with the first letter of the restaurant to merge them together and form a simple and uniform logo.

Logo Inspo & Process

  • I. Mood-board & Research

    We began by consulting with the client about ideas or designs they would like to see. A mood-board enables us to get a better sense of what our clients want. We then conducted brand research by looking at examples of similar restaurants.

  • II. Color Palette

    Establish a color palette and finalize branding for the logo. We wanted to stick with a color scheme that is inspired by the woods/nature. Colors like these would be used to display the brown coloring in cattle's hair. This complemented our steak house theme perfectly.

  • III. Logo Inspiration

    Being able to manipulate the features, whether it was facial structure or horns, made the project very interactive. This served as the basis for the design and implementation of the theme. The concept sparked many creative ideas for how to implement the logo.

  • IV. Logo Elements

    Once we isolated the outline of the image, we were able to work with each component separately, resulting in a sleek and harmonious design. Simple and straightforward, with two features that anyone can recognize by just looking at the logo design.

  • V. Approved Secondary Logo

    When the main logo elements were finalized, we created a sketch to incorporate them into the design. Since the client wanted a simple logo. Our goal was to make these two letters sound like the whole name when you read them.

  • VI. Finalized Primary Logo

    After the main logo elements were approved, the client requested a more detailed and typographic logo. The cows feature was outlined with the V element, which was implemented with a typeface selected specifically for this theme.
